How the Service Works:

When WHOIS Privacy is purchased for a domain name, a confirmation email is sent to the domain's administrative contact. The contact has 10 days to confirm the addition of WHOIS Privacy, or the service will not be enabled. Once confirmed, the domain's WHOIS information is changed to that of the WHOIS Privacy Service (see "Record Information" below).

All inquiries for the WHOIS information of a protected domain that are sent via telephone or email are directed to visit a web-based request form. Inquiries sent by registered mail are scanned, then forwarded to the Registrant via email. Requests are then sent to the Registrant, who is free to respond to or ignore the inquiry.

Purchasing:

• Transferring in a domain
• Ordering as a stand-alone product, to be added to an existing domain

The term of a WHOIS Privacy registration must match the term of the current domain registration.

If you cancel WHOIS Privacy, you will not receive a refund for the WHOIS Privacy feature. Once WHOIS Privacy is cancelled or disabled, the public WHOIS information will be displayed for the domain.

Service Management

Registrants may activate or deactivate this service for their domain(s) at any time via the Domain Management interface.

Transfers

Should a registrant wish to transfer a domain that is protected by another WHOIS Privacy service to NICForce, the existing WHOIS Privacy service must be disabled prior to placing the transfer. NICForce's WHOIS Privacy Service can be applied upon transferring in the domain.

Registrants that choose to transfer their domain name elsewhere should ensure that WHOIS Privacy is disabled prior to placing the transfer, and that the gaining Registrar offers a similar service.
